Letter from Miss Bansfield

I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Miss Raye and the Rocket Reporters on their student newspaper.  What a great job they do! Every month they do their best to report all of the happenings at and around Ingalls.
Great job & I can't wait to see what you write next.

Send us a message if you have something you'd like us to report on!

Handel and Haydn

By Claudia and Omeiry

In the auditorium members of the performance sang songs and acted silly. One dressed like an Egyptian and acted as Cleopatra. She played the piano dressed as Cleopatra. There was also one dressed like a ghost. The ghost sang through the skits. At the end someone said "Get out of here before the ghostbusters come!"  Another dressed like Abraham Lincoln. Later they changed hats and props and acted like Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Others played instruments like tambourines and maracas. Three students from the audience went on up on stage as volunteers. Everyone laughed and had a great time!

Cooking Class

By Angela

Food Corp Intern Jennifer Coverdale and Grade 3 students take part weekly in a Cooking class! This

is a friendship between Food Project, Food Corp., and Ingalls students.

Check out how much fun they have! They were making kale salad. They had different ingredients they put it into categories by taste buds on the tongue. They had sweet, which had, maple syrup, honey, dry cranberries and apples.  They had sour, which had lemon and apple. They had bitter which had olive oil and vinegar. There was salty that had, minced garlic, cheese, and sunflower seeds. First they

chopped up the kale, then they put

it in a ziplock bag, and massaged it. Then they added a tablespoon of

fat, and mixed it all together. Then they added other ingredients from the categories to make a dressing for the salad. They all tasted their salads at the end!
